Our Loom
The Jacq-ART Studio can be rented by novice as well as advanced weavers who have a project that they would like to complete on the Jacquard loom.
Whether you just like to come and work for a few hours to see what the loom can do, or rent the loom for a week, it is up to you. Nina Jacobs will guide you through the process of using the loom, getting familiar with the software and help you with any technical problems you might encounter in your work.
Nina Jacobs has helped many artist and students to work on simple to complicated projects. The loom, while it is a computer driven equipment, is still subject to all
hand-loom techniques. You can use inlay techniques, paint the warp or use more complicated multiple weft structures to simulate tapestry effects. Shaded satins and twills are commonly used to create photographic images.
